Command Sergeant Major Mark A. Breece is the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Tennessee National Guard.  He serves as the principal enlisted advisor, and is responsible to The Adjutant General for the supervision, training and well-being of the nearly 14,000 enlisted Soldiers and Airmen of the Tennessee Army and Air National Guard.

Throughout his career, Sergeant Major Breece has demonstrated his personal commitment to the Army National Guard and his Soldiers as he advanced to positions of higher responsibility.  Sergeant Major Breece has nearly 30 years of service with the Tennessee Army National Guard.

Command Sergeant Major Breece joined the 269th Military Police Company in 1978.  Although he began his career as a unit supply specialist, his progression of duties landed him a position as a Military Policeman in 1980.  In September of 1986, he entered the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program assuming a variety of duties including Battlefield Circulation Control and Rear Battalion Operations NCO for the 269th Military Police Company.  Sergeant Major Breece’s deployments include Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004.  In November of 2005, he was assigned as the Command Sergeant Major, 168th Military Police Battalion. He assumed duties as the Senior Enlisted Leader on 13 November 2007. 

His Military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course at the 101st Airborne NCO Academy, Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course, Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Warfare Course, and a variety of Professional Military Education Courses.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal (6the award device) and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (4).
