Command Sergeant Major Bobby G. Davis served as the State Command Sergeant Major for the Tennessee Army National Guard.  He served as the principal enlisted advisor and was responsible to The Adjutant General for the supervision, training and well-being of the nearly 10,000 enlisted soldiers in the Tennessee Army National Guard.  Command Sergeant Major Davis was born in Palmer, Tennessee and is the first born in a military family of three. He entered the Tennessee Army National Guard on 06 November 1965. He served in every artillery enlisted leadership position from Corporal Assistant Gunner to Command Sergeant Major.
His appointments include being the First Sergeant of two firing batteries, 1st Battalion, 181st Field Artillery from 1975 to 1979. CSM Davis was assigned as the Battalion Operations Sergeant in 1979 prior to his promotion to Sergeant Major on 10 July 1980. He was appointed as the Command Sergeant Major, 196th Field Artillery Brigade on 23 September 1981. He served in this position until he was assigned to his current position of the State Command Sergeant Major for the Tennessee Army National Guard on 30 September 1991.
