Colonel Jeffery H. Holmes is the Ninth Colonel of the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Tennessee Army National Guard. The units mission is to provide security and perform reconnaissance for the unit to which assigned or attached and to engage in offensive, defensive, delaying and economy of force operations. COL Holmes formerly served as the Commander of the 3rd Squadron, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, designated as the 278th Regimental Combat Team for service in Iraq.
EDUCATION:
COL Holmes received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from the University of Tennessee in 1984. He was commissioned Field Artillery from Tennessee Military Academy (OCS) in 1983. His military education includes the Armor Officer Basic Course Fort Knox, KY in 1986, the Armor Advanced Course Fort Knox, KY 1995, Command and General Staff College Fort Leavenworth, KS, 2003.
