Brigadier General Isaac G. Osborne, Jr. was appointed the Assistant Adjutant General-Army on 1 January 2010.  He is responsible for the training and supervision of the more than 10,600 soldiers in the Tennessee Army National Guard. In this capacity, he commands the Tennessee Army National Guard, and is responsible for readiness and effectiveness in training, administration, and logistics for both State and Federal missions. He directs, supervises and coordinates the Headquarters Tennessee Army National Guard staff and Army Guard units.

In addition to his duties as the Assistant Adjutant General-Army, BG Osborne has a secondary assignment as Deputy Commander and Army Reserve Component Integration Advisor for the U.S. Army’s Southern European Task Force/U.S. Army Africa. As Deputy Commander, his primary role is to establish the policies, plans and procedures needed to institutionalize Army National Guard support for US Army Africa.

Before his assignment as the ATAG, BG Osborne served as the first Director, Joint Staff for the Tennessee Army and Air National Guard, the primary advisor to the Assistant Adjutant General, Army and  Air, Tennessee National Guard.

BG Osborne graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant, Signal, United States Army.
