Command Sergeant Major Stephen Tolley is the Tennessee Army National Guard State Command Sergeant Major, a position he has held since January of 2006. In this capacity he serves as the advisor to the Commander of the Tennessee Army National Guard in the training and supervision of more than 10,600 Army National Guard Soldiers.
Prior to this assignment Command Sergeant Major Tolley served as the 196th FA Brigade CSM, and 2/115FA Battalion CSM. CSM Tolley has also served as Battery 1SG, Master Gunner, Platoon Sergeant, Chief of Firing Battery, Gunnery Sergeant, Fire Support Sergeant, Chief of Section (M109A3) Gunner, Forward Observer and Infantryman.
CSM Tolley completed two tours of duty in Vietnam and recently deployed in support of
Operations Enduring Freedom/Noble Eagle.
CSM Tolley has completed all phases of NCOES culminating with graduation from the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.
