MAJOR GENERAL F. DEXTER TUTOR

General Tutor serves as the ANG assistant to the commander, Air Mobility Command (AMC).  As the ANG assistant to the commander of AMC, he is responsible for advising the commander and the staff on all issues impacting the ANG.  He ensures requirements to support the ANG are included in planning, programming and execution phases of the AMC mission elements.  The general is responsible for coordination of ANG issues through the Director of the Air National Guard.

 

General Tutor was born in Toccopola, Mississippi on 19 October 1946.  He graduated from Messick High School, Memphis, Tennessee in 1964.  He enlisted in the Tennessee ANG in 1971.  A Distinguished Graduate from the Academy of Military Science at McGhee-Tyson Air National Guard Base, TN, General Tutor graduated from Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) in 1973, receiving his wings at Williams Air Force Base, AZ. He commanded an airlift squadron and an airlift wing and served as ANG Assistant to the Commander, Air Education and Training Command (AETC) prior to assuming his current position.
