Family Readiness
Family Readiness Support Assistance
The FRSA provides guidance, assistance, and day-to-day support for the Commander’s Family
Readiness Program, operations, and initiatives. The FRSA’s also provides Family readiness support including
direct day-to-day services to Soldiers and Family members and liaison with other support entities including
Rear Detachments, Family Readiness Groups, Family Assistant Centers, and Employer Support for the Guard
and Reserve (ESGR) representatives.
Tennessee National Guard Family Readiness Council Mission Statement
The primary mission of the State Family Readiness Council is to assess the needs of Tennessee National Guard
families, to recommend programs to meet those needs, and to find resources for implementing the programs.
The second mission of the Council is to assist commanders at all levels, both Army and Air National Guard,
across the state in accomplishing the functions that ensure family readiness.
Family Readiness Groups
The primary mission of any Family Readiness Group is to assist commanders in maintaining readiness of guard
members by encouraging self-sufficiency among its members, providing support and information, giving referral assistance, and to build resiliency and stability for times of separation.
